She dare to hope
Believe in good
Brave hearts
Yet to open
Pandora’s box
With fear strewn
Across her face
Like opening a can of worms
Her truth and
All of her scars exposed
Told of secrets and
Untold truths
Her life once destroyed
Yet her courage
Helps to place the lid
of Pandora’s box back on
I ask, not for truth
But a freedom to tell
In a hidden valley of tears
Falling in open fields
Of wildflowers
A place where things
Stay hidden amongst
Fallen petals of velvet
And the remains of
Secrets buried and untouched
I ask, not for truth
But a strength to tell my story
In this valley of tears
Which fall in open fields
Of wildflowers
forget the broken sparrow
In the wind, her feathers ruffle
Her wafer-thin skin, like silk
Is torn with blood splatters
Like her thoughts
A mess
She wanders aimlessly
Like a broken sparrow
Fragile, yet elegant
With her scars on show
And her thoughts
No longer a mess
I never heard the words
That would change my world
To comfort my being
Yet opposites
Ring in my ear
Fear abruptly placed
With tremors from
Fingertips and missing
The beats of my heart
I love you, was absent
From a world, that’s mine
What is the meaning of love?
I asked as tears soak my pillow
Yet — you know how to hate
With all that you have….but me
A cycle reborn, where
Love exists, changing worlds
She gives so willingly
Her heart pure
Untouched — yet left
Vulnerable and exposed
To a stampede of elephants
Left barely beating
Fragile and weak
She holds her heart
Gently in her hands
Left intact and unscathed
In her vulnerable state
She mutters
As she stumbles into
Darkness and blinded
By hatred — yet
All she wants
Is to live in a
World filled with love
And beauty
She will giver her all
To a world divided
All she wants is to
Live in peace and harmony
It’s my turn to sing
To the tune of freedom
My time to dance
To the beat of victory
To have survived
Adversity
While learning to accept
And to begin healing
A fight once fought
Yet a battle I won
