Been a while

She fights the demons

Those who reside within

Her shattered soul

Running through her veins

Like bitterness and toxins

Sweat pouring from her body

With her fast beating heart

Been a while

Since her body was taken over

By malice and poisonous thoughts

As panic sets in

Memories flood her mind

Drowning in despair

Through sheer desperation

She breaths letting herself go

Been a while

Since her body was taken over

By things which taunt her

Flashbacks and sleep deprived

Yet she can breath fresh oxygen

Moving forward

Her only way

Been a while
