Trigger warning — mentions of abuse and death

Photo by Annie Spratt on Unsplash

What's the matter
The scars upon my soul
The way you made me feel
Too much skin on show
What's the matter
The way I cowered in a corner
As I waited for the next punch
The tears I cried as day turns to night
What's the matter
As I begin to fade
And my heart begins to stop
Then people cried as they said goodbye
What’s the matter with who I was
