Echos

By the echos of each word

Spoken in suspicion of

What he meant to say

Stung by what he did

No remorse or terror

As he stood over my bed

A finger over my lips

To silence my echoes

Unable to scream or shout

As he whispered in my ear

Nobody will believe you

As I lay numb and afraid

Yearning for it all to end

Keen to take my last breath

Hoping he would end me

But I would have the last word

Crying out within my echoes

To end him and his campaign

Of utter terror against me
