Getting through

This a season to be jolly

To most, this rings true

Yet to some, a struggle

Anniversaries remembrances

Fakes smiles and laughter

Getting through and

Getting past fear

A belief and assumption

A memory floods the mind

Tis the season for family

A reuniting of loved one’s

Old jokes and embarrassing stories

Instead the loneliness

Masked sadness

Yet,with her ‘family' gone

She just carries on

Happily making memories

Telling silly jokes

With her own little family

While getting through
