Trigger warning — Mentions of abuse

Photo by Rainier Ridao on Unsplash

I look back
For a moment
To remember
A fear you embedded
So deep inside of me
I’d need a chisel
To chip away
As to free my soul
You took from me
Moments lost
Each beating
Each time you
Forced yourself
Upon me
Lost me time
And innocence
The scars on my soul
Unhealed
Your words of vileness
Like a knife
Cut through
Each layer
Of my being
I look back
For a moment
To try and forget
How each of you
Made me feel
In all those moments
I look back
