As she pulls back the curtains
To beatings and betrayal
Leather belts or clenched fists
Appear, while collapsed on the floor
Bruised and paralysed by fear
Voices and laughter in the next room
While her screams dismissed
And rejected by a life removed
Her courage misplaced~ nonexistent
She bled through whispers
Of words unspoken an
Truths forbiddenly told
