Mesmerized

By the grace of god

She stared aimlessly

Into a darkened space

In the skies, she gazes

Looking mesmerized

As she waits for a sign

From afar — shushed

By distant clues

Her faith forced

A superstition, she asks

Worry & confusion

What is she looking for

Answers maybe?

Of why but for now

She’ll remain mesmerized
