Don’t think of my trauma with sadness
Or set some guilt and shame at my door
I don’t take kindly of judgemental hearts
Think of me with fondness and so much more

Treat me with nothing short of kindness
As I navigate a life that's new
Don’t tiptoe around my past
I’m still the same me you always knew

I’ll dance in the rain or snow if you like
Singing, swinging and being free
As long as you treat me as well as I treat you
Only when you watch and all you see is me

Don’t look at me with pity in the eyes
Count each blessing you have
No crying at the story I’m telling you
I’m here with you, lets just sit here and laugh

Hold my hand as we journey together
I will gift to you in return what you gift to me
Don’t think of my trauma with sadness
I got this, we’ve got this — you’ll see
