Was you
Not me
A child
I was
An adult
I grew to be
A hot mess
Created by
Trauma, you see
Chaos embroiled
Flitting here
And there
Relationships
Off and on
Trust and fear
Based within
My existence
Yet a feeling
Of none existence
No longer
A hot mess
She once was

This poem was created for our weekly poetry battle over on Twitter. The prompt for this battle was ‘ Hot mess’
