Pick me from the ashes

suicide and death poem

Photo by Max Kleinen on Unsplash

In the morning hush
As temptation turns
To desperation
My mind throbbing
With painful nurturing
Of words spoken
Yet unheard
In the silenced minds
Closed eyes
Dreaming of moments
A trigger is pulled
Pain less, not painless
Pick me from the ashes
Of a smoke-filled flash
Though…
My time here
Just beginning
Dreams fulfilling
In the morning hush
I sit at peace
With moments
Passing by
In a wilderness
Of painless thoughts
When my time comes
Pick me from the ashes
