Picking up the pieces

Picking up the pieces
Of shattered
Souls scattered
Across frost-bitten soil
Crunches underfoot
Freshly settled
Like a wish to become so
But no…
She is shattered
Into a million pieces
Her body present
With her soul hesitant
Of trying, crying
A piece of her forgotten
Seen but cannot unsee
What stands before her
Demons overriding minds
Capturing and unearthing
A mourning shell of herself
While picking up
A million pieces of her soul
