Re(tired)

Is not old nor useless

But scarred, yet free

A burial of pain

Inflicted within

The deepest

Part of her being

Her mind spews

Volcanic acid — like

Her thoughts too painful

They erupt until nothing left

Re(tired)

Is not old nor useless

Abused and stomped on

Flesh peeled back

Scarred, yet alive

Mind erupting

Words spewing, like

Volcanic acid

Stepping back into

Her own realities

She is not old nor useless — but

Re(tired)

I edited this image to suit the poem, by adding a few of the phrases which were said to me growing up!

Words kill — they almost killed me!
