Songbird

Singing sweetly

Hidden in trees

Wind ruffling feathers

Her nest resting

Fledglings wistfully

Gazing into the

Eyes of each other

Waiting for the hand

Which feeds them

Returning, the momma

Singing sweetly

Painfully pausing

Fledglings gone

Best taken, yet

No wind ruffling feathers

Her song fading

Music to her ears

To see her fledglings return
