The words of sorry

Seeping from my lips
Are words of sorry
As the world carries on
And time is in a hurry

I did beg for her to stay
But she had other plans
I thought day through night
While my mind was in a trance

For everything we did
And all that we said
Let us try to move on
Putting the ghosts to bed

We all loved the same person
But it was no competition
It’s time you anger left
Don’t leave me in this position

I’ve spent these years
Unable to really grieve
Let me remember and feel
In her life you made me leave

This is me, here and now
Feeling and remembering
While I’m sorry for your anger
I’m not sorry for the memories I’m treasuring
