Under surveillance

Her every move watched

As she lives like a prisoner

Every aspect of her days

Tainted by a realness

Of what’s to come

Through each corner

Over each shoulder

She must watch

Feeling a presence

Somebody is right there

Ready to pounce

To make her stumble

While under surveillance

Unable to escape

To hide and be hidden

Each day different

Yet the same

Her shattered heart

With words swimming

Within her mind

Will she ever be free

Or ever escape from

Being ‘under surveillance'
