What lurks inside

Behind this door
I sit in darkness
Cross-legged
You put me there
A punishment
Or just for fun
Heightened fear
Of what lurks inside
Only you can let me out
My sweaty palms and
Heavy panting
But why?
Why was I locked inside
Oh, I remember now
Because you are a coward
